DAY 321
A CLOUD OF WITNESSES
Ezekiel 5, 6 & 7 and Hebrews 12
I am pretty exhausted today. I am sure in the last 320 days there are a few days that you had to drag yourself through the Bible readings for the day. I am there right now. So I am not going to tackle Ezekiel tonight. But look at the beginning of Hebrews 12:

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, in the church I attend we call it the “communion of Saints.” They are around us, cheering us on, to finish the race. And the advice we are given is to not carry extra weight, to throw off that which weighs us down…sin. So tonight, think about who in your past was your great encourager. Was it a mom or dad; an aunt of uncle; a grandparent; a friend; a priest or nun; who was it? Right now they are still cheering you on, so run, run with endurance.
