DAY 254
BETTER
THAN BEST…TRANSFORMATION
Proverbs 8 & 9 and 2 Corinthians 3
Three
interweaving thoughts are around my head from the Scriptures today…I am trying
to succinctly knit them together. Let me first try them individually.
Wisdom
calls, raises her voice, stands on the heights and the crossroads and at the entrance
gates of a city, and even cries aloud…the point of course is that Wisdom is not
hiding in some corner, rather she is “front and center” if only we would listen
and observe.
My
second thought is the comparison in Corinthians between the Old Covenant and
the New. I must always remind myself that Paul does not think the Law bad…he
thinks it is good…it is just not the best thing…the best, most precious, most
indescribable “thing” that we might know and have is Jesus Christ.
Finally
we are given the privilege of hearing and reading a remarkable piece of
Scripture: And we
all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from
the Lord who is the Spirit. We are transformed into the
same image…that is an amazing promise from God and it communicates this idea
that we “are being” transformed…in other words we are “in process.”
In
the Old Testament we read that Wisdom is screaming at us to “pay attention.” I
wrote a few days ago that in seeking wisdom we are seeking transformation.
Today we are reminded again of the supreme nature of Jesus, and then…then we
are told that we are being transformed into the same image.
Do
you believe it? Do you believe that God, right now, is transforming you? The
transformation is an inside out transformation. It is to become the person that
is not just wise, but the person who communicates God in Jesus Christ to the
world…do you believe God is doing this in you…that He is transforming you!
